BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College wrestling program would like to announce the commitment of sophomore Angel Cervantes to California State University of Bakersfield (CSUB).  The athlete received a full-ride scholarship offer. 

Cervantes will continue his collegiate athletic career on the wrestling team for the Roadrunners under the direction of head coach Luke Smith. Cal State Bakersfield is a Division I program that plays in the Pac-12 Conference. As a freshman, Angel ended his season at BC with a 30-9 record and placed 6th at the 3C2A State Championships. 

"We were sad to see Cervantes leave and were hoping to have another year with him on our team but super excited for one of our athletes to get this opportunity! Full rides are hard to come by, and I am glad it was one of our own," said head coach Marcos Austin.
