BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's soccer put together a dominant performance Tuesday, earning a 4-0 shutout victory over WSC opponent Antelope Valley at home. The Renegades controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, outshooting the Marauders 16-4 and holding them scoreless behind a solid effort from goalkeeper Addyson Evens, who recorded three saves in the clean sheet.
Delilah Cardenas led the way offensively with two goals, including the opener in the 10th minute off an assist from Jaxi Hagen, who later added her second assist of the night on a goal by Cierra Franks in the 32nd minute. Alexandra Gallardo extended the lead midway through the second half with an unassisted strike, and Cardenas capped off the night with her second goal less than 30 seconds later, assisted by Melody Christian.
With the win, Bakersfield improves to 5-5-1 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play. The Renegades will look to carry their momentum into their next matchup as they continue conference action and take on Glendale on Friday for a 4:00 PM kickoff.
