Bakersfield Rolls Past Glendale with 4–1 Home Victory

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's soccer team put together a dominant performance Friday afternoon, defeating Glendale 4–1 at home behind a balanced attack and strong defensive effort.

The Renegades struck early when sophomore Alexandra Gallardo finished a setup from freshman Delilah Cardenas in the 13th minute to open the scoring. Glendale managed to equalize in the 27th minute, but Bakersfield quickly regained control before halftime as midfielder Melody Christian found the back of the net off an assist from Drew Gonzalez to give BC a 2–1 lead.

The Renegades carried their momentum into the second half. Freshman Mayra Gonzalez extended the lead in the 66th minute, finishing a feed from freshmens Nadia Rodriguez, and Cardenas capped off the scoring in the 85th minute off a pass from sophomore Brooklynn Tucker.

Goalkeeper Addyson Evens recorded two saves in the win as Bakersfield controlled possession throughout, outshooting Glendale 7–1 and earning three corner kicks.

With the victory, BC moves to 6-5-1 on the season. Up next, the Renegades will travel to Citrus College on Tuesday, October 13th before returning home on Friday.
