BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's soccer team wrapped up the home regular season in strong fashion, earning a 2–0 shutout win over Citrus College at home on Friday afternoon.
The Renegades set the tone early when Alexandra Gallardo found the back of the net in the 11th minute, giving Bakersfield a 1–0 lead that held through halftime. The team continued to apply pressure in the second half, and in the 69th minute, Delilah Cardenas doubled the advantage with a well-placed goal assisted by Jaxi Hagen.
Goalkeeper Mercedes Ramirez anchored a solid defensive effort for BC, recording six saves to earn the clean sheet. Bakersfield outshot Citrus 13–10 and controlled possession throughout the match, maintaining composure on both sides of the ball.
With the win, the Renegades improved to 10-7-3 overall and 7-3-3 in conference play. The team will close out the regular season on the road against West LA on Tuesday, November 11th.
