Noel Dalton became the head tennis coach leading the Men’s Tennis Program in 2018, has turned Renegade tennis into an elite program that has maintained consistent success and shattered program records, and contending for Western States and State titles year after year. While maintaining his role as head coach of the men’s program, Dalton has provided assistance to the women’s team.
He guided the Renegades to a clean sweep of Team, Singles and Doubles of the Western States Conference Championships in 2026. The program has been consistently ranked in the Top 10 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll throughout Dalton’s tenure. He currently serves as President of the 3C2A Coaches Association. Dalton is equally proud of his player accomplishments in the classroom and community outreach.
As a student-athlete himself, he began playing tennis as a junior and then high school at West High School where he played all four years and in 1981 won the CIF Valley Championship. In the spring of 2025, Dalton was inducted into the West High School Hall of Fame. He moved on to play tennis at BC where he was named winner of the 1984 Scholar Athlete Award. He then transferred to Pepperdine Univeristy where he played lacrosse and the team won the 1987 WCCL Championship.
He holds an A.A. from Bakersfield College and a B.S. in Accounting from Pepperdine University.
Noel resides in Bakersfield with his wife, Kathy. He has four sons – Tanner, Hayden, Conrad and Race.
