Bakersfield Women’s Basketball Cruises Past Santa Monica, 107–46

SANTA MONICA, CA. — Bakersfield College women's basketball team delivered a dominant road performance on Friday afternoon, rolling past Santa Monica 107–46 at Corsair Gym to improve to 14–7 overall and 6–1 in conference play.

The Renegades set the tone early and never looked back, opening the game on a 20–11 first-quarter advantage before steadily extending the lead in each period. Bakersfield outscored Santa Monica 30–7 in the third quarter and capped the afternoon with a 31-point fourth quarter to put the game away.

Five Renegades scored in double figures, led by Danika Tolentino, who poured in a game-high 23 points to go along with nine rebounds and six assists. Alexia Ramirez followed with 18 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Jamie Neaderbaomer added 18 points behind four three-pointers.

Lailene Araniva contributed 17 points, nine rebounds, and four assists, and Mia Samaniego chipped in eight points off the bench. Bakersfield finished the game shooting 50.6 percent from the field and an impressive 46.7 percent from three-point range.

Bakersfield controlled the glass with a 52–29 rebounding advantage and dominated inside, outscoring Santa Monica 44–10 in the paint. The Renegades also capitalized on second-chance opportunities, scoring 30 points off offensive rebounds, while forcing 16 Santa Monica turnovers that led to 22 points.

Up next, BC will head out to West LA on Wednesday before returning home on Saturday to take on Antelope Valley.
