Renegades Pull Away in Second Half to Defeat Antelope Valley, 70–55

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's basketball team earned a decisive 70–55 victory over Antelope Valley on Saturday evening at the Renegade Athletic Center, improving to 17–7 overall and 9–1 in conference play while raising money for its annual Play for Kay Event.

Bakersfield took an early 20–16 lead after the first quarter and maintained control throughout the first half. After heading into halftime with a narrow 30–27 advantage, the Renegades delivered a dominant third-quarter performance, outscoring the Marauders 23–6 to seize full momentum.

Danika Tolentino led all scorers with 19 points while adding nine rebounds and three steals. Alexia Ramirez recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Lailene Araniva contributed nine points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Off the bench, Mia Samaniego provided a major spark, knocking down four three-pointers on her way to 12 points.

Bakersfield controlled the paint and the glass, outscoring Antelope Valley 40–28 inside and winning the rebounding battle 51–44. The Renegades also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 27 points off Antelope Valley miscues, while adding 15 second-chance points.
