Owls Rain Down Threes Against Renegades

After holding just a three-point lead at halftime, No. 19-ranked Citrus College ran away with a 74-59 victory over Bakersfield College.

The Owls improve to 16-6 overall and 7-1 in Western State Conference action, while the Renegades drop to 10-11 on the year and 1-7 in conference.

Four Owls finished the game in double figures, with Rudy Suarez (6-for-9) and Tyrel Creger (6-for-15) leading the quartet. Malik Khouzam chipped in 13 points (4-for-10), while Brandon Suber (2-for-4) added 10 points.

Creger led the Owls off the glass, grabbing eight rebounds and dished out six assists.

Bakersfield didn't hit a single three-pointer, while Citrus knocked down 13 of 28 shots from beyond the distance, including five from Suarez.

Five minutes into the second half, the Owls took off on a 19-0 run to all but put the game away. Suarez drained a shot from the corner to spark the scoring spree, while an EJ Bryson free throw capped the run, putting the Owls up 57-30.

Citrus looks to keep rolling as it hosts Santa Monica City College on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
