Despite finding itself trailing 1-0 early Tuesday, No. 19-ranked Citrus College came back and then some to grab a 7-1 victory over Bakersfield College.

The Owls improve to 7-2-1 overall, 3-0-0 in the Western State Conference-South with their fourth-straight win. The Renegades drop to 1-5-0, 0-2-0.

Bakersfield struck first in the ninth minute of action, but Citrus had a quick response with a goal less than 90 seconds later. Riley Van Der Loo and Berenice Mancinas had a quick give-and-go through the Renegade defense to give Van Der Loo a great look at the back post to even things up at 1-1.

Van Der Loo assisted the eventual game-winner 11 minutes later, finding Elisa Salas at the back post, where she tucked it into the back of the net, 2-1.

Alyssa Lopez gave Citrus a 3-1 lead heading into halftime with a goal in the 26th minute before the Owls poured on the attack in the second half.

Citrus scored four goals in a span of six minutes to seal the deal for the Owls. Van Der Loo had a hand in all four, assisting Mancinas on the first before capitalizing herself on the next two for a hat trick.

Abigail Salvador capped the scoring in the 61st minute, once again off a Van Der Loo assist.

Van Der Loo finished with three goals and three assists in the game, becoming the first Owl to do so in the same game and tying both single-game records in the process.

The Owls have now won four games in a row and are unbeaten in six games as Citrus heads to Santa Monica College on Friday.
