Powell Mousaian led GCC MBB with 22 points in 74-59 win over Bakersfield College Jan. 20; Now 3-1 in WSC South play and 10-8 overall
The GCC Men's basketball teams seems to have found a formula for success early in conference play in 2024 as they won for the third time in four games with a 74-58 victory over visiting Bakersfield College Saturday Jan. 20 in the Verdugo Gym. Glendale led the game from almost start to finish to improve to 10-8 this season.
 
The Vaqueros had four players score in double figures including Mousaian, who hit 10 of 12 free throws as GCC made good on 23 of 28 and 82.1 percent from the charity stripe. The sophomore also had six rebounds and four assists. Karson Peffer had 17 points off the bench including a game high 12 rebounds and Dhante Russell chipped in with 10 points off the bench and starting guard Tyson Jackson had14 points and three 3=pointers.
 
GCC continues conference play this week on the road at Citrus College Wednesday Jan. 24 at 7 pm and host College of the Canyons Saturday Jan. 27 at 1 pm.
