Bakersfield Ends in a Draw with the visiting Vaqueros

BAKERSFIELD, CA – The Bakersfield College men's soccer team took on the visiting Glendale College Vaqueros on a Friday evening game. The Renegades were able to end the game in a draw after coming back from being down twice in the game.

Glendale found the goal in the first twenty minutes of the game by scoring with a quick goal strike into the upper left side of the goal to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Although, Bakersfield dominated in action by taking majority of the possession in the first half they were unable to find the back of the net. The team ended the first 45 minutes with five shots on goal and goalkeeper Victor Melendez had three saves.

In less than 10 minutes into the second half, Miron assisted sophomore Angel Sandoval tied the game at 1-1. Tensions rise on both teams, with yellow card given on each side as each side was trying desperately to add another goal. Unfortunately, the next goal came from the Vaqueros, who took their lead back at the 70th minute. BC pushed forward and even had three shots on goal before defender Jalen Prioleau lift his team for the equalizer (2-2).

With the draw, the Renegades move to 2-0-1 in conference and 5-6-4 on the season. Up next, they will start the second half of conference and head out for two road matches at against Antelope Valley on Tuesday and Canyons next Friday (Oct. 28th).
