Softball Takes First Game of Double Header Over Taft in Six Innings

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College softball team hosted Taft College in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at the Dean & Adah Gay Sports Complex and came away with a 6th inning mercy rule victory, 9-0.

Kylee Fahy had a two RBI single along with RBI singles from Sadiee Banuelos and Alexis Lopez in the first inning to put BC up 4-0.

In the second, Avian Campos had an RBI single and Fahy had an RBI double to increase the lead to 6-0.

Atlantis Rede took solo shots deep in both the fourth and sixth innings for her first home runs of the year. Campos then hit another RBI in the sixth to bring the lead to 9-0 for BC, which would become the final at the end of the inning due to the mercy rule.

Fahygot the start at pitcher for the Renegades and went five innings, collecting six strikeouts and allowing only one run. Natilee Parrish took over to finish the final inning of the game.
