BC WOMEN HOST EL CAMINO-COMPTON CENTER AT 5P

BC will hopefully get a smile...and points and rebounds...from MacKenzie Tevelde tonight starting at 5p in the Gil Bishop Sports Center.

The Bakersfield College Women's Basketball Team (10-7) has won eight of their last 10 and wants to continue their strong play in their last game before conference play begins with a good showing against El Camino-Compton Center (6-9) tonight at 5p in the Gil Bishop Sports Center.

MacKenzie Tevelde has six double-doubles of points/rebounds variety on the season, and turned in a career-best 27 point-15 rebound performance on nine of 11 shooting in a 70-65 loss to American River on December 15th, all for a season-average 11.9 points per game.

Kennedy Nielson leads all Renegade scorers with 14.4 points per game, her signature contest coming in BC's' last game-an 85-59 blowout of Cuesta College on January 7th. Neilson scored 32 points while making more than 50 percent of her shots from the field.

Marissa Figueroa -better known as "Peanut' to the Renegade failthful- has the second highest PPG for BC with 12.1. But she's got quite a toolbox, and has filled many gaps this season whether it be from a ball distribution standpoint, defensive hustle in generating steals, or pulling down rebounds (3.2 per game).

No conversation about boards would be complete without mentioning Angie Kroeger. She's averaging 5.5 per game-second on the team to only Tevelde-despite averaging almost five less minutes per game. In a 77-75 win over Moorpark, Kroeger pulled down 14 rebounds in just 21 minutes off the bench.

Octavia Croney has also given BC much-needed depth in every way possible. She made the most of a start against Cuesta College by nearly picking up a triple-double the hard way; she scored 20 points on 10-15 shooting from the field, grabbed 10 rebounds-and wait for it-racked up eight steals to account for almost a third of Cuesta's total turnovers!

Julie Olvera is coming off an injury, and that gives BC a formidable assortment of weapons tonight at 5p when BC hosts El Camino-Compton Center in that Palace on Panorama, The Gil Bishop Sports Center.
