Mackenzie te Velde turned in a special performance against West LA Wednesday.

The Bakersfield College Women's Basketball Team (13-8, 2-1) dominated West LA College (4-16, 0-2) 79-21 and held the Wildcats to single digits in each quarter of play, and just three points in the final frame.

Sophomore Mackenzie te Velde was dominant, leading all scorers with 23 points. She also pulled down 18 rebounds, and registered four steals for Bakersfield.

Bakersfield arrived at West LA behind schedule after their bus broke down and they took a brief nature hike on the side of Interstate 5 while waiting for their relief transportation to arrive.

Despite the logistical hurdle, BC bounced back from a disappointing home loss to Santa Monica Saturday night, and showed they are still a top team in the Western State Conference.

They play next at Canyons on Saturday at 5pm.
