BAKERSFIELD, CA – The visiting College of the Canyons Cougars scored three goals in the first half and another three in the second half to roll past the Bakersfield College women's soccer team on Friday evening at the BC soccer fields, 6-1.

COC started the scoring drive in the first five minutes with a goal. Unfortunately, the Cougars took a 2-0 lead in the next five minutes with an own goal from the Renegades. Into the second half and the Cougars scored at the 47th, 59th, and 75th minutes. The Renegades lone goal came from midfielder Olga Almador with an assist by Karla Esqueda Cardona at the 57th minute. Goalkeeper Katelyn Gonzalez worked hard with six total saves in the game but in the end Bakersfield's defense needed more help to overcome the Cougars.

With the loss, the Gades are now 1-3 in conference and 6-3-2 overall on the season. BC will play another home match on Tuesday, October 11 at 4:00pm against Glendale before heading out on the road for three games.
