BC VOLLEYBALL PICKS UP EIGHTH STRAIGHT WIN

The Bakersfield College women's volleyball team continued its hot streak with a 25-16, 20-25, 25-20, 25-13 Western State-East road victory over LA Mission College on Friday night.

 The 3-1 result extends the Renegades' current winning streak to eight matches. 
 
Alex Paris paced the BC attack with 14 kills. 
 
Kelsey Henderson and Karlee Cornford added 12 and 11 kills, respectively for the Renegades (15-8, 3-0), who lead the WSC-East by half a game over second place Canyons (2-0).
 
The BC defense was anchored by Hannah Pope (22 digs) and Haley Sanchez (11 digs).
 
Mackenzie Hernandez and Reece Stevenson also played a big part in the victory with their stellar passing.
 
Hernandez tallied 24 assists while Stevenson had 21 assists.
 
Pope ranks No. 15 in the state in total digs with 315.
 
BC, which has only dropped just three games during its past eight matches, travels to face Canyons on Friday.
