RENEGADES WIN CONFERENCE TITLE

The Bakersfield College baseball team defeated West LA 12-2, yesterday, to capture the Western State Conference - South title.  Nathan Ortiz (6-4) threw 7 strong innings to get the win.  Ortiz gave up two runs on six hits while striking out nine.  The Renegades offense exploded for twelve runs on nineteen hits.  Luke Lewis led the team with four hits, going 4-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.  Zach Williams had three hits and two RBI, Brycin Hernandez was 3-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, Tim Billingsley had two hits, three RBI and two runs scored and Konner Dodge went 1-2, with two walks, and RBI and three runs scored.

The Renegades finished the regular season with a 21-9, 15-5 record.

They will know their post-season opponent after this weekend's seeding meeting.
