Baseball Nabs Walk-Off Victory Over LA Valley

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College baseball team hosted LA Valley on Saturday afternoon and came away with a dramatic walk-off conference victory, 7-6.

The Monarchs scored first in the top of the third inning getting three runs off consecutive doubles.

Kamron Willman had a two-run RBI double in the bottom of the fourth to bring home Zach Williams and Trey Harmon to cut the lead to 3-2.

LA Valley managed to put another run across at the end of the fifth inning, but BC's Matt Patton had an RBI double that scored Willman from second to bring the score to 4-3.

The Monarchs added a run in the top of the seventh off a one-run single. In the bottom of the seventh, Landn Kauk had an RBI single to bring home Ashanti Ross from third and then Trey Harmon had a two-RBI to give BC their first lead of the game, 6-5.

LA Valley scored a run to tie it up in the top of the ninth, but Ryan Dickerson ended the game with a walk-off double to score Hector Ruvalcaba, grabbing the conference victory for the Renegades.

Starting the game at pitcher for the Renegades was Alejandro Murillo who went four innings before being replaced by Frankie Villasenor. Villasenor was replaced in the seventh by John Bell who was replaced by Chris Rodriguez, credited with the win, with two outs away in the ninth.

With the win, BC improves to 12-11 overall and 4-2 in conference.

The Renegades will next travel to face LA Valley on Tuesday 3/12 at 2:00pm.
