BC SADDLED WITH FIRST LOSS OF SEASON VS. POWERHOUSE RIVERSIDE

The Bakersfield College Football team (2-1) couldn't solve Riverside (3-0) on the road Saturday, and ended up losing 45-7.

Derrick Vickers scored the lone touchdown for BC on a 23 yard run in the third quarter, giving him six on the season. Vickers has at least one touchdown in each of BC's first three games this season.

Riverside seemed to have all the answers on offense, with quarterback Collyn Anderson passing for 229 yards and three touchdowns, running back Seth Acda rushing for 175 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown, and receiver Darius Hunter hauling down three receptions for 80 yards.

It was BC's first loss of the 2016 season, but it gave them the chance to test unprovens like quarterback Cesar De Leon, who completed 12 of 18 passes for 116 yards and an interception. It was his first collegiate action under center.

BC will host LA Harbor on September 24th at 6p in historic Memorial Stadium.
