Next Level Renegades: Five Football Players

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College football program would like to announce the commitment of several players who will continue their education and play football at the next level.

 

Luke Wattenbarger: Samford University (FCS Division 1) Birmingham, Alabama 

Wattenbarger played two seasons for the Renegades as a safety. He played in a total of 14 games, where he completed 44 tackles.

 

Logan Bowers: Harding University (Division 2, National Champions) Searcy, Arkansas

Bowers ended his career with the Renegades playing linebacker for two full seasons with a total of 21 games. The Garces high school graduate had 125 tackles, 52 assisted tackles, and 15.5 tackles for loss.

 

Jason Champlin Jr: Grambling State University (FCS Division 1) Grambling, Louisiana

Champlin played one season for BC in 2022 as a defensive line. He completed five games with seven tackles and eight assists.

 

Xavier Marshal: CSU Pueblo (Division 2) Pueblo, Colorado

Xavier played one season as a Renegade wide receiver, completing 10 games. He scored three touchdowns and averaged 34.8 yards a game.

 

Zarek Williams: Lane University (Division 2) Jackson, Tennessee

Williams played one season for the Renegades with six games as a tight end. He had one touchdown and went 14.7 yards per game.
