SOFTBALL ENDURES TOUGH OPENER

The Bakersfield College softball team (0-2) opened it's season with a doubleheader against Sierra College and Fresno City, but couldn't pull a win out of either game.

They lost the first game 9-1 in five innings to Fresno City, with Freshman Marina Felipe giving up 9 earned runs on 15 hits in the loss.

The second game went the distance, with Sierra College picking up the 10-5 win.

Trinidad Lee picked up the loss, scattering 10  hits over seven innings and giving up 10 runs, but only four were earned.

The Lady Gades committed five errors in the game.

But their bats picked up in the second half of the game, with Lee homering and doubling in her own cause.

The Lady Gades host Ventura at 5pm Tuesday at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex.
