The Bakersfield College Softball team (3-9-1) couldn't close the gap against Allan Hancock in Santa Maria today and lost 9-7.
The Lady Gades scored in the top of the first only to see the Bulldogs plate two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
The Lady Gades answered back with two of their own in the third to take a 3-2 lead, and the two continued to swap leads until Hancock finally took a 9-7 lead in the bottom of the sixth.
All nine Renegade starters recorded at least one hit.
Trinidad Lee, Alyssa Ruiz, and Alyssa Gonzales led the Gades offense with two hits apiece.
Starter Trinidad Lee and Marina Felipe both turned in good pitching outings for BC.
Lee took the tough-luck loss for the Gades, but only saw a few hard-hit balls in 5 innings of work, while ringing up three strikeouts.
Felipe came on in relief for Lee in the bottom of the sixth inning and surrendered only one infield hit and had one strike out.
The Renegades play Reedley on the road Friday at 10am before taking on number one-ranked San Mateo at 12pm.
