The Bakersfield College softball team (4-11-1)  beat Glendale (3-7-1) 7-3 at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex Thursday.

Marina Felipe picked up the win for the Lady Gades, scattering nine hits over six innings, while giving up only one earned run and striking out nine.

"She started getting tired in the sixth and wasn't spinning the ball as much and she left some pitches over the plate, but her ball was moving well over the first five innings, and she was keeping it on the corners, and that's how she racked up so many strikeouts," Head Coach Christie Hill said.

Glendale threatened late when Felipe loaded the bases on an error and two base hits before getting any outs in the top of the 7th. Hill called on frequent starter Trinidad Lee, and she didn't disappoint. Lee induced an infield flyout, and struck out the next two batters to get out of the inning.

Alexis Rodriguez was two for three with a double and an RBI in her first game back after missing five games due to injury.

Izzy Martinez was two for three with two RBI, and Carlee Goolsby was two for two.

BC Softball hosts Citrus College (3-8) Tuesday, March 15th in a doubleheader that begins at 3p in the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex.
