Softball Adds a Pair of Wins of Riverside

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College softball team hosted a pair of games on Saturday, February 24th, against the Riverside City College Tigers and came out on top, winning both games 5-2 and 10-2.

In the first game, the Renegades pitching staff put on a great performance, limiting Riverside to just two runs on nine hits. Ryleigh Harrison led the way with a solid outing, pitching 5 innings and allowing 2 runs while striking out 4 batters. Savannah Figueroa provided strong relief pitching, shutting down Riverside's offense over the final two innings to secure the win.

Offensively, BC capitalized on their scoring opportunities, scoring 5 runs on seven hits. Emily Hernandez, Paige Alvarado, Breanna Marquez, Bella Estrada, and Alyna Ruiz each contributed an RBI to lead Bakersfield's offense. Sadie Salas also made an impact on the base paths, stealing a base to set up scoring opportunities for her team.

In the second game, Bakersfield's offense exploded for 10 runs on 9 hits, showcasing their offensive firepower. Brylee Bramhall and Salas led the charge with 2 RBI each, while Hernandez, Serenity Angulo, and  Figueroa also drove in runs. Bramhall's double was a highlight, and Salas contributed a double as well. Additionally, BC's aggressive baserunning, including a stolen base by Bramhall, put pressure on Riverside's defense throughout the game.

On the mound, Angulo delivered a solid performance for the Renegades, pitching 5 innings and allowing only 2 runs while striking out 3 batters. Savannah Figueroa provided strong relief pitching, shutting down Riverside's offense over the final inning.
