Figuero's No Hitter Gives BC Another Conference Win

BAKERSFIELD, CA—The Bakersfield College softball team shut out Ventura in an 8-0 victory at Bakersfield, led by a dominant pitching performance from freshman Savannah Figueroa.

Figueroa was the star of the game, pitching a complete-game shutout while allowing zero hits. Figueroa showcased excellent control, striking out nine batters and only allowing one walk. She also contributed offensively with a strong showing at the plate.

BC's offense came alive in the latter innings, scoring three runs in the third, one run in the fourth, and four more runs in the sixth to secure the win.

Camille Chavez led the offensive charge for the Renegades, going 1-for-2 at the plate with a double and four RBIs. Brylee Bramhall also had a productive game, going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Sadie Salas contributed with a key RBI as well.

 

With this win, Bakersfield moves to a 21-12 overall record and a 6-3 conference record. The Renegades will host College of the Canyons for their final home game of the season, where they will honor their sophomores after the game's conclusion. The first pitch is at 2:30pm, and the game will be live-streamed at gogades.com
