COACH CLARK GRABS SILVER AT WORLDS

Clark ran through his preliminary matches, beating Nikolaos Sotiriadis (GREECE) 5-0, and Adan Krolak (POLAND) 8-3.

The victory over Sotiriadis was especially dominating when one considers that the Greecian didn't have to overcome jetlag and was wrestling at home. Clark, a defensive specialist, never flagged in the match and controlled every aspect of the victory from start to finish.

While the tournament was advertised as a random draw, Iran's Ali Darzinezhadrami was clearly (next to Clark), the most dominant wrestler in their weight class, and he benefitted from a first round bye, while Clark wrestled into the finals.

The Iranian was wily, and scored four points in the second round for the victory. Coach Clark never gave up though, and scored a two point takedown late in the match, but Darzinezhadrami held on for the win.

Clark entered the tournament after claiming the National Freestyle and Greco titles earlier this year in Las Vegas.
