Women's Soccer Grabs their First Win at Home against LACC
BAKERSFIELD, CA - After a tough loss earlier this week,  the Bakersfield College women's soccer team celebrated a much-needed win to boost their season and their confidence with a resounding 5-0 victory over Los Angeles City College. The home team dominated the match from start to finish.

From the first whistle, it was evident that the women's soccer team was hungry for a win. Within the first six minutes, Mireya Morales scored her first college goal and added another for her team at the 12th-minute mark.

The women's soccer team wasted no time making their intentions clear and added to their lead with two more goals before the half was done. Sophomore Liliana Flores and her teammate Denis Ortiz Perez punched one in for the Renegades. The early lead provided a much-needed confidence boost and set the tone for the remainder of the game.

In the second half of the match, both teams were starting to slow down because of the high temperatures outside but midfielder Shelby Laster managed to grab one more goal for Bakersfield in the 70th minute.

With their win over Los Angeles City College, the women's soccer team has moved to 1-1-2. Up next, the women's soccer team will head out for three road matches and not return home until September 29th, when they begin conference play.
