Women's Soccer Adds a Conference Win against LA Valley at Home

BAKERSFIELD, CA - In an exhilarating match, the Bakersfield College women's soccer team showcased their determination to win on the field, securing a thrilling 4-3 victory over the LA Valley Monarchs. This significant win added a valuable conference win to their record.

The Renegades took a quick start in the first half and immediately gained control of the game. The first shot attempt came from Camila Moncada, who shot over the goal post but redeemed herself in the 21st minute, kicking the ball right past the Monarchs goalkeeper to give BC a 1-0 lead.  Not even five minutes after the first goal, Bakersfield found themselves with a 2-0 lead when Arianna Noemi Garcia secured her first goal of the season and then a 3-0 lead before the half ended. It would be Denise Ortiz Perez who added the security shot for BC.

In the second half, it would be LA Valley with the majority of the possession in the game. The Monarchs got their first goal in at the 58th minute and then again in the 61st minute to start giving the Renegades something to work for. However, Perez knew BC needed an extra security goal, and she did just that in the 67th minute, giving Bakersfield the 4-2 lead. LA Valley added one more goal before the final whistle, but in the end, the game was Bakersfield's.

The Renegades move to 4-5-3 on the season. Up next, the team will play a pair of home matches. Tuesday, October 17th, against West LA with a start time of 1:30 pm and then Friday, October 20th, against Antelope Valley with a 2:00 pm start time.
