Volleyball Advances to Round 2 and Will Take on Ventura

BAKERSFIELD, CA -The Bakersfield College volleyball team continued its hot streak on Saturday night.

The Renegades swept Cerritos 25-20, 26-24, 25-23 in CCCAA Southern California Regional first round playoff action at the Gil Bishop Sports Center.

BC, seeded No. 15 will next go on the road to face second-seeded Ventura (19-3) on Tuesday.

Aubrey Dees had 17 kills, 14 digs, and 13 assists to help win for 13 time in their last 14 matches.

It was the sophomore from Tehachapi's ninth triple-double of the season. 

Brianna Bowyer added 7 kills for the Renegades, who rallied from down 23-21 deficit to win the second set. 

Kya Jones, the team's sophomore libero played spectacular defense and recorded 17 digs.

Kamryn Briggs tallied 14 digs and Kayla Stephen had 13 assists for BC (17-6).

With the win, they have moved on to round two and will play at Ventura on Tuesday, November 21st at 7:00 pm. The game will be live stream from their website Ventura College Athletics (vcweplayhard.com)
