The Bakersfield College men's basketball team rallied from an eight point deficit with 11:32 remaining to beat Glendale College 69-57 on Wednesday night at the Gil Bishop Sports.

With the win the Renegades clinched at least a share of the Western State Conference-South title.

BC (21-4, 10-1 WSC) can win the WSC-South championship out-right by get a victory in one of its remaining three regular season games.

"It feels great," BC coach Rich Hughes said. "We've worked hard for it. Out thought process is, we'll take the co-(championship) but we're not really satisfied with that. We have three games to win it out and hopefully we can take care of that."

The Renegades, led by a huge second half-performance from Lawrence Moore, out-scored the Vaqueros 31-11 to close out the game.

"A couple of our key guys made big-time plays," Hughes said. "Us switching to zone helped us get back into the game and then we were able to get a lead and went back to man-to-man, which is our bread and butter."

Moore had 12 points in the second half including 10 during a pivotal five-minute stretch of the second half.

Deandre Dickson assisted on two of Moore's late-game baskets and finished with a game-high 21 points. The 6-foot-9 sophomore also grabbed 10 rebounds.

Moore finished with 16 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the floor. Jameik Rivière, the state leader in assists per game, had 15 points and four assists.

"I'm fortunate to have seven sophomores," Hughes said. "Lawrence played some big games two years and he's had some big games for us this year. When Jameik gets a lot of attention that when "Bam" (Moore) has to step and make plays and he did tonight."

BC shot 58.6-percent from the field in the second half to overcome a 31-29 halftime deficit.

Jeri Mask paced the Vaqueros (11-12, 7-4 WSC) in scoring with 18 points on 9 of 13 shooting.

The Renegades out-rebounded Glendale 31-27 and committed six fewer turnovers than the Vaqueros.
