Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College Men's basketball team hosted visiting West Hills Coalinga College on Wednesday evening and won 71-68.

The Renegades started the night off slow offensively, not scoring their first bucket until three minutes into the game. Both teams exchanged leads throughout the first half, but by the break it was tied at 36-36.

West Hills opened the second half-outscoring BC to take the lead and hold it throughout the half. BC would then come back and pull ahead with under two minutes to go. With the game tied at 68-68 with 5.2 seconds left in the contest, Shahadah Camp took the inbound pass and nailed a three-point bucket at the top of the arc to give BC the win.

"You've got to win some games by luck and we'll take it", said Coach Rich Hughes after the game "We didn't play with the same energy we did this past weekend…but good teams find good ways to win and we found that way to win."

Leading BC in scoring for the game was Shahadah Camp with 19 points. Anieus Medrano added 16 and Jeffrey Lee added 9 point and 6 rebounds.

With the win Renegades improve to 7-5 overall on the season.

Up next, they will head on the road to play in the Paul Landreaux Classic hosted by El Camino College. They will play Irvine Valley on Thursday 12/20 at 3:00pm and San Diego Mesa on Friday 12/21 at 3:00pm.
