Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College Men's basketball team hosted visiting LA Valley College in their second and final game of the Western State Classic and won 77-71.
The Renegades outpaced LA Valley, who beat Santa Barbara the night before, in scoring throughout the first half. BC's Anieus Medrano led the team sinking four 3-point baskets to put the Renegades up 44-29 at the half.
BC maintained the lead throughout the second half as the Monarchs came within six points with under a minute to go. BC survived the late LA Valley attack to seal the victory and go 2-0 at the annual Western State Classic.
Leading BC in scoring for the game was Anieus Medrano with 22 points. Shahadah Camp added 15 points and four rebounds and Jeff Lee added 14 points and six rebounds.
With the win Renegades improve t0 10-6 overall on the season.
