The Renegades Take Down Canyons at Home

BAKERSFIELD, CA – The Bakersfield College men's basketball team cruised to a victory for the second conference game of the new year, leading late in the first half and never looking back in a 73-66 win over the visiting College of the Canyons Cougars on Saturday evening.

Four Renegades found themselves in double figures led by Eloy Medina 's 18 points on a 7-of-15 shooting. Sean Fry and Rahmel Davis followed with 16 points while Davis ended the night with 12 rebounds. Ipreye Egbe rounded out the scorers with double digit points chipping in 12 points.

BC trailed COC in the first half, tying the game three times before taking their first lead of the night with 8:15 minutes left. Bakersfield led by 10 points after going on an 8-2 run to take their largest margin in the first half. The Gades went to the locker room leading 40-34

The Renegades pulled away in the second half and never looked back. COC managed to trail by five points with less than a minute left to play but that was as close as they got to scratching at BC's lead.

With the win, the Renegades improve to a 9-7 overall and 1-1 in conference. Up next, BC will travel to West LA on Wednesday and return home Saturday (01/14) to take on the Glendale Vaqueros for a 5:00pm tipoff.
