Bakersfield Takes Down Visiting Vaqueros

BAKERSFIELD, CA – A 10-point lead in the first half kept the Bakersfield College men's basketball team ahead to pull away with a 1-point win over the visiting Glendale Vaqueros on Saturday evening. The Renegades closed out a 44-43 victory in the Gil Bishop Sports Center, led by sophomore Rahmel Davis' 17-points on the night.

Bakersfield took a six-point lead in the first six minutes of the game until Glendale went on a 6-0 run to tie the game at 10 points with 13:34 remaining in the first half. The game tied one more time at 15 points before BC gain the momentum to go on a 14-4 run and lead 29-19 into the locker room.

With a low scoring start to the second half BC kept their lead. With 8:16 left in game, the Gades had another 10-point lead, but it was short lived when the Vaqueros started to outscore BC. Bakersfield scored their final point at 2:18 and Glendale added five to close the gap but the buzzer would save the Renegades.

The Renegades improve on the season 10-8, and 2-2 on conference on the season. BC will play at home on Wednesday, January 18th against Antelope Valley for a 7PM tipoff then travel to Santa Monica on Saturday.
